Travelling in comfort/style?

Some people have an idea that you can either be comfortable or stylish, not both. Many girls will slob around in onesies, only to transform themselves into entirely different creatures when venturing out of the house - definitely something I'm guilty of too! But for this blog I will be showing you some of my attempts to find a happy medium and work some downtime chic.

For the first journey, we travelled 14 hours overnight by Megabus - definitely not a glamorous option! - but rather than going for the homeless look, I chose some comfortable basics which I could layer for warmth and move around in plenty to get into a cosy sleeping position. The jeans are ASOS petite and are a nice stretchy fabric and a fairly loose fit, the striped top is from Forever 21 and is a surprisingly soft cotton for how little I paid for it. You can never have too many stripy tops!

The coat was a recent purchase, again from ASOS petite. When you're little it's important to get the proportions right, so petite ranges are my saviour! The black pea coat style is timeless and should work with as many different outfits as possible. The boots are from Boohoo and the bag is from Warehouse.

I stashed a few things in my bag which I would recommend to anyone doing a long journey overnight:

• Earplugs
• Sleep mask
• Travel pillow, although I actually used a large scarf which doubles up as a blanket
• Audiobooks or music, as I can't read or look at a screen without feeling sick
• Baby wipes
• Toothbrush and toothpaste
• Snacks for the road, fruit is my favourite
