An autumnal walk in Vondelpark, Amsterdam

The Flying Pig Uptown hostel we stayed at in Amsterdam is near to the beautiful Vondelpark. There are lots of twisting paths, tucked away bridges and water features to discover, and there's some cute cafés dotted throughout the park to enjoy the views and warm up with a hot chocolate.

As with the rest of Amsterdam, it is a haven for cyclists and pedestrians alike - once you get the hang of where not to walk and making sure you're looking in the right direction at crossings (sounds obvious I know but it's dangerously easy to do!) it's a great way of getting around the city quickly and cheaply, as well as keeping fit at the same time... It definitely has me wishing the UK were a little more cyclist-friendly!

I love exploring places like this with leaves crunching under my feet, and one of the few things I really like about the colder weather is getting all bundled up to have a good walk before treating myself to a warm drink and something sweet.

Also some of you may have noticed I've changed my hair colour a little. With Tommy's help I've now gone lighter at the ends and have blonde all the way through using an ombré-driven balayage technique inspired by the legendary Guy Tang's work - the guy is a hair genius, you definitely need to check out some of his work! For an amateur I think Tommy did an amazing job, with the help of some YouTube tutorials of course. Braids are a cute way of showing off the effect, what do you think?
